Self Study / Leaning into the uncomfortable

2.18.2016
I am currently sitting in the library trying to absorb all of Terry Tempest Williams wisdom (new favorite author) and I ran across this quote that hit some very nice and tender places in me. I've had some hard, uncomfortable, conversations this week. Conversations where I normally would have shrunk and said yes when I wanted to say no, And conversations where I would have said no but desperately wanted to say yes. But for whatever reason I have had enough awareness this week to lean into those uncomfortable situations with bravery and humor and say, 'this is what I want, dammit!' IT WAS VERY HARD AND I DO NOT WANT TO DO IT AGAIN.

It takes me back to a beautiful conversation I had with my dear friend Mikele during one of our many sunset hikes up Bells Canyon. She is STILL all the way in Budapest talking to famous Lithuanian rock stars (true story) and will continue to be there for quite sometime. I miss her deeply. Mikele just has a nack for leaning in to those tough situations with grace and integrity. There is just a reason you surround yourself with people wiser than yourself ya know?
